Common Ground

Uttering 'Inggit lang yun!' is the last phrase I would hear from her. Why? Because she projects confidence very well. Her qualities are not a mockery of other's inadequacy. I bank on her good will and motherly nature to think of reasons beyond herself why a person acted in a certain way. She knows her worth as a person therefore doesn't require those around her to be her alter-egos. She doesn't have to tell stories to convince other that her intention is good. It can stand on its own. As what she's always saying, " Life is a consequence of what you say or do."

We stand on a common ground called pride. Hers is fertile as she gets to express herself and watered with sympathy by those who are bored. When ennui hits the ventilation, meddling is such fun. Mine, on the other hand, is feeble as I hate mediocrity. Isolated as I take pride in discussing ideas and theories as I love to experiment on  behavior and set myself as a guinea pig. I choose to believe that great people talks about idea, lesser ones converse about events while the morons talk about each other.

The notion of proving yourself as good is as futile as denying yourself of evil. Life's beauty lies in its imperfections. The challenging part is our attempt to make it a little better. As ambition drives our direction, we learn to decide between convenience and working it out. Either way, confidence makes us stomach injustice and wear the mask of success. Or, it can help us traverse the road less traveled. I will meet you there when if you find your way.
